What Is Smudging?
Smudging is an ancient spiritual practice, dating back thousands of years. Many cultures around the world practice smudging rituals with different types of herbs and plants. However, it’s most often associated with Native American culture.
Smudging, or burning sage, may be used to purify or cleanse a home, person, or place of negative energies.
Smudging involves burning a smudge stick, which is a bundle of leaves and stems, often from sage (but sometimes cedar, tobacco, sweetgrass, or other herbs are used) and fanning the smoke around the space.
Eventually, the smoke is guided through an open door or window so that the negative energy can escape along with the smoke.

Smudging with sage can also benefit mental, physical, and emotional well-being. For example, some studies have shown that sage smudging can have powerful antibacterial and antimicrobial qualities; it can improve cognition and mood and enhance sleep quality, easing insomnia.

What is smudging spray?
Smudging spray is a smokeless alternative to burning sage. It’s made with reiki charged water, sage essential oil, infused with quartz crystals (known for their healing powers), and often includes other essential oils, too, for a refreshing scent and other benefits.
How to use:
To use smudging spray to cleanse negative energy from places or objects, first, shake the bottle well, then simply spritz the area or object with your spray.
You can use this to cleanse your healing crystals, too.
You can also use this on yourself to smudge yourself. Avoid contact with the face, hold the bottle arm’s length away and lightly spray, misting your body. You may want to smudge yourself if you’re feeling angry, resentful, have recently argued with a loved one, etc.
Using the smudging spray on yourself will help you let go of those negative emotions. You’ll feel calmer, relaxed, and optimistic.
